Resolving Yahoo Email Authentication / Setup Issues in GuideConnect
Users may experience authentication or setup issues when adding a Yahoo email account in GuideConnect. This article provides the steps required to resolve these issues by using an App Password and adjusting account settings.

Create an App Password for Your Yahoo Email:
- Follow the official Yahoo guide: https://help.yahoo.com/kb/SLN15241.html
- Sign in to your Yahoo Account Security page.
- Under "External connections," click Create app password.
- Enter your app's name in the text field.
- Click Generate password.
- Use the one-time password to log in to your 3rd party app.
- Click Done.

- Use this App Password instead of your standard Yahoo password during setup.

Setting up Your Yahoo Email in GuideConnect:
- Navigate to:
Main Menu → Settings → Email → Account Manager - Open the Actions Menu (press F2) and select Add.
- Run through the email Setup wizard and use the App Password instead of your regular email password.
- When GuideConnect redirects to a webpage, press the ESC key to exit the email setup and choose the option not to continue setting up.

Update Your Email Settings:
- Navigate to:
Main Menu → Settings → Email → Account Manager → Select the Yahoo email account.
- Navigate to:

- Switch OAuth to SSL for both Incoming and Outgoing server security.
- Select the option to Test email settings at the bottom of the page.
- The email should now authenticate successfully.
