Layered hotkeys provide an alternative method to access commands within SuperNova and Dolphin ScreenReader. The prompts for these commands have been designed to match your chosen SuperNova and Dolphin ScreenReader Keyboard Language setting. Where your keyboard language setting differs to your SuperNova and Dolphin ScreenReader Control Panel language, then the translation of the commands match the keyboard language. If no translation is available, then Layered hotkey commands will default to UK English.
For example, if you are using Dutch Windows with a US English keyboard layout, and have Dutch SuperNova configured to use the US English keyboard language setting, then within Layered hotkey mode all commands appear in US English.
Although we strongly recommend the SuperNova and Dolphin ScreenReader keyboard language setting matches your Windows keyboard language, if you wish to access Layered hotkey commands in a different language, then please do the following:
- Open the SuperNova or Dolphin ScreenReader Control Panel.
- Open the "General" menu.
- Open the "Keyboard Settings" submenu.
- Select "Keyboard". The "Keyboard" dialog box opens.
- From the "Language" list, select "Access system language" to match your SuperNova and Dolphin ScreenReader Control Panel language or choose a language from the list.
- Select "OK" to confirm.
Note: When the Windows keyboard language and the SuperNova and Dolphin ScreenReader keyboard language setting do not match, stated hotkeys in the "Hotkeys" dialog box and features such as Key describe mode may not accurately report your keypresses. If you wish to continue to maintain Layered hotkey commands in a particular language, then please ensure your operating system and access system keyboard languages match.
