Magnification error code 7 on Windows 11 24H2

Some users have reported encountering Magnification error code 7 while running older versions of SuperNova on Windows 11 24H2.

This issue affects Intel, AMD and NIVDIA GPUs and appears to have been introduced as a result of a Windows update.

To resolve this issue upgrade SuperNova / Dolphin ScreenReader to version 24.

 

If you are unable to update to the latest version of SuperNova /Dolphin ScreenReader then you can try the following options to resolve the issue:

1. Switch to SuperNova's Alternative Magnification engine via the Enterprise control panel

Go to SuperNova's program folder, e.g. C:\Program Files (x86)\Dolphin\SnovaSuite2303, and run the program enterpriseconfig.exe, and in it's Magnification tab enable the "Use Alternative magnification system" and then quit and restart SuperNova.

 

2. Rollback your GPU drivers

  • Open Device Manager
  • Double-click on Display Adapters
  • Double-click on your GPU
  • Select the Driver tab
  • Click Roll Back Driver
