Minimum IOS Requirements for the EasyReader App

Updated iOS Compatibility Requirements for Installing and Updating EasyReader

Minimum iOS Version Now Required

The EasyReader app now requires iOS 15.6 or later due to Apple’s policy that obliges developers to use the latest development environment. Previously, the minimum supported version was iOS 13.0, but this is no longer sufficient for new releases of the app.

This change affects both existing and new users in different ways.

What This Means for Existing Users

Users who already have the 12.04 version of EasyReader installed on a device running an older version of iOS can continue using it. The app will not be removed from their device, and all current features will continue to function as they do today.

However, these users will not be able to update to the upcoming 2026.01 release or any future versions unless they update their device to a supported iOS version.

What This Means for New Users

New users attempting to install EasyReader for the first time must be running iOS 15.6 or later. Devices that do not meet this requirement will be unable to download the app from the App Store.

To install EasyReader, users should update their device to iOS 15.6 or newer, provided their device model supports it.

Summary of Requirements

  • Previous minimum iOS version: 13.0

  • New minimum iOS version for updates: 15.6

  • Minimum iOS version for new installations: 15.6

  • Existing users on older iOS: Can keep using version 12.04 but cannot update to 2026.01

  • New users on older iOS: Cannot install EasyReader until updating their device
