After implementing a workaround for a Microsoft Office crash some areas of Office are no longer spoken by SuperNova or Dolphin ScreenReader

If you have previously implemented a dol_hook exclusion to fix an issue with Microsoft Office stability prior to updating SuperNova to version 22.04

Compatibility issues with Microsoft Office v2308 and later have been resolved in SuperNova v22.04.

If you have previously received a workaround by excluding dol_hook processes from interacting with Office, and are now experiencing problems whereby some areas of Office are no longer spoken by SuperNova or Dolphin ScreenReader, you can undo these changes with the following steps:

Before attempting the following, create a backup copy of your Windows Registry and a system restore point. Failure to do this may result in a non-recoverable system.

  1. Open the "Run" dialog box with 'Win + R'
  2. Type "regedit" into the dialog box and confirm this with 'Enter'
  3. Navigate to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Dolphin\dol_hook"
  4. Delete any Registry Keys referencing either Excel.exe, Outlook.exe, Winword.exe, or Powerpnt.exe
  5. Navigate to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Dolphin\dol_hook"
  6. Delete any Registry Keys referencing either Excel.exe, Outlook.exe, Winword.exe, or Powerpnt.exe
