Why Text Under Mouse Fails and How to Fix It in SuperNova Magnifier & Speech

If you are using SuperNova Magnifier & Speech and notice that Text Under Mouse does not activate when hovering over items on the web, the issue is likely related to your selected SuperNova profile. Text Under Mouse relies on the Dolphin Cursor, which is only available in the Magnifier & Speech with Keyboard profile.

This article explains why the issue occurs and how to switch to the correct profile.

 

Why Text Under Mouse Isn’t Working

Text Under Mouse requires the Dolphin Cursor to track and read text as you move your mouse. However:

  • The Magnifier & Speech with Mouse profile does not include the Dolphin Cursor.

  • Without the Dolphin Cursor, Text Under Mouse cannot function.

To restore this feature, you simply need to switch to the Magnifier & Speech with Keyboard profile.

 

How to Change Your SuperNova Profile

Follow these steps to enable the correct profile:

1. Open the File Menu

Press ALT + F on your keyboard to open the File menu.

2. Select the Profile Option

From the list, choose Profile.

3. Choose the Correct Profile

In the dropdown list, select:

Magnifier & Speech with Keyboard

Once selected, the Dolphin Cursor becomes available, and Text Under Mouse will begin working as expected.
