Unable to Type Text in Website Browsers Using the On‑Screen Keyboard in GuideConnect
Current Limitations and Workarounds for Touchscreen Typing in Web Browsers
Overview
Some GuideConnect users may find that they are unable to type text into website fields when using the on‑screen keyboard. This is a known issue affecting the current version of GuideConnect. The development team is actively working on a fix, which is planned for an upcoming update.
While the on‑screen keyboard may not function as expected in web browsers, users can still enter text using alternative input methods.
Current Workaround Options
Until the issue is resolved, you can continue typing in website text fields by using any of the following supported input methods:
✔ Physical Keyboard
If you have a physical keyboard connected to your device, you can type normally in all browser text fields.
✔ Mouse Input
Users can click into text fields and type using other available input tools.
✔ Dolphin Remote
The Dolphin Remote can also be used to navigate and enter text where required.
These methods allow you to continue browsing and completing online forms while the on‑screen keyboard issue is being addressed.
Status of the Issue
This behaviour is known and is scheduled to be fixed in a future GuideConnect update. Once released, the update will restore full on‑screen keyboard functionality within website browsers.
