This article explains the ways in which a user’s personalised settings (such as magnification level, speech volume etc) can be exported from a Dolphin USB for transfer onto other devices.
Using the Dolphin product Control Panel
You can import and export all user settings by using the SuperNova Control Panel. To do this:
- Press CTRL + SPACEBAR to open the Dolphin Product Control Panel
- Press ALT + F to open the “File” menu.
- Choose “Export…”
- Choose “User Settings…”
- Choose a location to export the user settings – the settings will be saved into a single file.
You can then save the exported settings file onto a portable storage drive or network share to transfer them onto another computer. When you have access to the new device, do the following:
- Ensure that your Dolphin Software has been installed and is running.
- Press CTRL + SPACEBAR to open the Dolphin Product Control Panel
- Press ALT + F to open the “File” menu.
- Choose “Import…”
- Choose “User Settings…”
- Browse to where you stored the settings file and import these.
Using Windows Explorer
You can manually transfer user settings by copying and pasting an existing Settings folder into the correct location on another device. User settings are in:
X:\<Product Edition>\Settings
(where X is the Dolphin USB drive letter labelled "DOLPHINDATA"
You can copy the entire “Settings” folder and paste this into the user settings location on another device (ensure you have run the Dolphin software on the target device to create the required folders, and that the software is not running while copying the files).
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Dolphin\<Product edition>\Settings
