Configuring Connect and View in a network environment

To enable Connect and View to function in a secure network environment with access to all features you need to make the following changes

Required Settings for Firewall:

For best performance when running Connect and view you may need to allow access through your firewall:

  • The Hotkey helper requires: hotkeys.yourdolphin.com (port 80).
  • The Whiteboard access requires VNC ports 5900, 5901 and 5902.

Optional Settings for Firewall:

  • The Product Improvement Program (PIP) and crash feedback system use the Windows BITS service transfer system to send data to: pip.yourdolphin.com (ports 80 / 443).

Download our Whiteboard Wizard:

Connecting to a whiteboard uses virtual network computing (VNC). VNC is a type of remote access software that makes it possible to view another computer over a network connection. There are a number of free and low cost VNC software programs available. These include tight VNC, Ultra VNC and Real VNC. The VNC software must be installed and running on the presenter's computer for SuperNova to make a connection. The VNC software does not need to be installed onto the computer running SuperNova. The SuperNova Whiteboard Wizard does this task for you.
