      Obtain and Use the Welsh TTS voices from Ivona with Dolphin products

      This article describes how to obtain and setup the Ivona Welsh TTS voices which Dolphin products

      The IVONA Welsh TTS voices have been developed as part of an innovative partnership between IVONA Software (Text-to-Speech company), the Welsh Government and Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB). The voices have been developed to work with all standard screen-readers and on any computer running the Microsoft operating platform.

      The Welsh voices are available free to both individuals and non-commercial organisations by emailing your name and choice of voice (male or female) to cymru@rnib.org.uk. You will receive an email with a license code and links to the download file within three working days.

      Once installed and activated using the code supplied by RNIB, you can configure them in the following ways:

      Configure IVONA Welsh TTS in SuperNova

      1. Press LEFT CONTROL + SPACEBAR. The SuperNova Control Panel opens.
      2. Press ALT + G. The "General" menu opens.
      3. Use the UP and DOWN ARROW keys to select "Advanced Options" and press ENTER. The "General Advanced Options" dialog box opens.
      4. Press the TAB key to select the "Sam Setup" button and press SPACEBAR. The "Sam Configuration" dialog box opens.
      5. Use the UP and DOWN ARROW keys to select "Sam to Sapi 5" and press the SPACEBAR to select the checkbox if it is not already checked
      6. Press the TAB key to select the "Configure" button and press SPACEBAR. The "Sapi 5 Driver Configuration~" window opens.
      7. Use the UP and DOWN ARROW keys to select the Ivona speech synthesiser then press ENTER.
      8. The Ivona speech TTS has now been set up as the default Sapi 5 synthesiser. Now you need to choose the Sapi 5 synthesiser in SuperNova.
      9. Press LEFT CONTROL + SPACEBAR. The SuperNova Control Panel opens.
      10. Press ALT + S. The "Speech" menu opens.
      11. Use the UP and DOWN ARROW keys to select "Voice Preferences" and press ENTER. The "Voice Preferences" dialog box opens.
      12. Press LEFT CONTROL + TAB to move to the "Synthesiser Configuration" page.
      13. TAB to the "Select Synthesiser" button and press SPACEBAR. The "Select Synthesiser" dialog box will open.
      14. Use the UP and DOWN ARROW keys to select "Sapi 5.0 Synthesiser" and press ENTER.

      Configure IVONA Welsh TTS in EasyConverter

      1. Choose the EasyConverter "Settings" button
      2. To select the Welsh TTS for Daisy Talking Book creation, from the tree view of options select "DTB TTS".
      3. From the "Voice" list on the right hand pane, select the relevant Welsh voice from the list then choose OK to save your changes.
      4. To select the Welsh TTS for MP3 creation, from the tree view of options select "MP3 TTS".
      5. From the "Voice" list on the right hand pane, select the relevant Welsh voice from the list then choose OK to save your changes.

      Configure IVONA Welsh TTS in EasyReader

      1. Choose the "Book Voice" button from the left hand options pane
      2. From the "My Reading Voice" list box choose the relevant Welsh TTS voice. 
      3. If you wish to override an existing voice built into the book you are playing, be sure to select the "Always use my Reading Voce" radio button.
