      Obtain and use the Welsh TTS voices from Ivona with Dolphin products

      This article describes how to obtain and setup the Ivona Welsh TTS voices which Dolphin products

      The Ivona Welsh TTS voices have been developed as part of an innovative partnership between Ivona Software (Text-to-Speech company), the Welsh Government and Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB). The voices have been developed to work with any screen reader running on a Microsoft Windows PC.

      The Welsh voices are available free to both individuals and non-commercial organisations.

      To obtain the voices please follow the instructions on the following page of RNIB's website:

      Once installed and activated using the code supplied by RNIB, you can configure them to work with SuperNova in the following ways:

      Configure Ivona Welsh TTS in SuperNova

      1. Press LEFT CONTROL + SPACEBAR. The SuperNova Control Panel opens.
      2. Press ALT + G. The "General" menu opens.
      3. Use the UP and DOWN ARROW keys to select "Advanced Options..." and press ENTER. The "General Advanced Options" dialog box opens.
      4. Press the TAB key to select the "SAM Setup" button and press SPACEBAR. The "SAM Configuration" dialog box opens.
      5. Use the UP and DOWN ARROW keys to select "SAM to SAPI 5" and press the SPACEBAR to select the checkbox if it is not already checked
      6. Press the TAB key to select the "Configure" button and press SPACEBAR. The "SAPI 5 Driver Configuration~" window opens.
      7. Use the UP and DOWN ARROW keys to select the Ivona speech synthesiser then press ENTER.
      8. The Ivona speech TTS has now been set up as the default SAPI 5 synthesiser. Now you need to choose the SAPI 5 synthesiser in SuperNova.
      9. Press LEFT CONTROL + SPACEBAR. The SuperNova Control Panel opens.
      10. Press ALT + S. The "Speech" menu opens.
      11. Use the UP and DOWN ARROW keys to select "Voice Preferences" and press ENTER. The "Voice Preferences" dialog box opens.
      12. Press LEFT CONTROL + TAB to move to the "Synthesiser Configuration" page.
      13. TAB to the "Select Synthesiser" button and press SPACEBAR. The "Select Synthesiser" dialog box will open.
      14. Use the UP and DOWN ARROW keys to select "SAPI 5.0 Synthesiser" and press ENTER.

      Configure Ivona Welsh TTS in EasyReader for Windows

      1. Click the "Audio Settings" button located towards the top-right of the Reader pane.
      2. In the "Audio Settings" dialog box click the "Voice" drop-down button and then choose "SAPI 5" followed by the Welsh TTS voice you want to use.
