SuperNova / Dolphin ScreenReader has stopped announcing any web content while using Firefox.

A recent Firefox update (Build 177 and any subsequent builds) has introduced compatibility issues between SuperNova / Dolphin ScreenReader and Firefox.

The recent Firefox updates have introduced mapping issues, leading to SuperNova / Dolphin ScreenReader having issues announcing anything apart from Firefox’s toolbar. A map file update is required to fix this issue.

SuperNova / Dolphin ScreenReader 22.03

If you  are on version 22.03 you can install the updated Firefox map file using SuperNova/ ScreenReader's built in updater: 

  1. Press CTRL + SPACEBAR to open the SuperNova / Dolphin ScreenReader Control Panel.
  2. Press Alt + G to open the "General" menu.
  3. Choose "Check for Updates...".

SuperNova / Dolphin ScreenReader 22.02 and below

If you are on a previous version to 22.03 (22.02, 21.x, 20.x, 19.x etc) you will have to import the map file manually. Please download the map file linked below: 

Firefox Map File

Once the above map file has been downloaded, import this into SuperNova / Dolphin ScreenReader:

  1. Press CTRL + SPACEBAR to open the SuperNova / Dolphin ScreenReader Control Panel
  2. Press ALT + F to open the “File” menu
  3. Choose "Import..."
  4. Choose "Map..."
  5. Browse to where you downloaded the map file and select it
  6. Restart Firefox and SuperNova / Dolphin ScreenReader
